Common Questions
How far is Jibhi from Delhi?
Jibhi is approximately 500 km from Delhi by road, taking 11–12 hours to drive. The standard route goes via Ambala, Chandigarh, Bilaspur, Mandi, and Aut — then a right turn before the Aut Tunnel towards Banjar and Jibhi. Overnight Volvo buses to Kullu or Manali depart from ISBT Kashmiri Gate; passengers alight at Aut and take a local cab (20 km, ~30 minutes) to Jibhi. By car, the NH-44 and NH-205 combination via Kiratpur–Mandi tunnels is the fastest route, cutting earlier road times significantly.
What is the nearest airport to Jibhi?
The nearest airport to Jibhi is Kullu-Manali Airport (Bhuntar Airport, IATA: KUU), located approximately 50 km away — about 1.5 to 2 hours by taxi. IndiGo and Air India operate daily flights from Delhi to Bhuntar. Note that flights to Bhuntar are frequently cancelled in bad weather due to the mountain terrain; always have a road backup plan. From Bhuntar, a pre-booked taxi to Jibhi costs approximately ₹1,500–₹2,000. Winterfell can arrange pickup from the airport on request.
How to reach Jibhi by bus?
To reach Jibhi by bus from Delhi, board any HRTC or private Volvo bus from ISBT Kashmiri Gate headed to Kullu, Manali, or Bhuntar. Get down at Aut (tell the conductor in advance — it is a highway stop, not a scheduled halt on most services). From Aut, local HRTC buses run to Banjar and Jibhi until approximately 5 PM. After 5 PM, hire a local taxi from Aut to Jibhi (~₹500–₹700). Bus journey from Delhi to Aut takes 10–11 hours. From Chandigarh, the same Manali buses pass Aut in 5–6 hours.
What is the nearest railway station to Jibhi?
There is no direct railway connectivity to Jibhi. The most practical approach by train is to take any Delhi–Chandigarh express (2.5–3 hours), then continue by bus or taxi. Chandigarh is 250 km from Jibhi, roughly 7–8 hours by road. Alternatively, the narrow-gauge toy train runs from Pathankot to Joginder Nagar (scenic but very slow — 6+ hours for 165 km) and Joginder Nagar is around 80 km from Jibhi by road. Chandigarh is the recommended rail hub for most travellers coming from Delhi, Punjab, or Haryana.
